Interviews! This words sends a kind of tension in many of us. Many questions comes to our minds.
Will I get it?. What would they ask? How good I will answer? What about my competitors? and many more.
First of all I would say we should have a positive approach on what we want to achieve. It should not be like "will I get that",
Instead it should be "I should get that". So leave your fear and tensions out before you enter the
board room.
To start with first rule is be cool and always smiling and over all make it feel to the your interviewer that you look confident on yourself
. Remember after all first apperance matters most.
Wear what exactly you fit in. dont go by others. but avoid eye catcy colors after all your face should glow not your cloths.
In India you dont have much of "TIE" culture, so dont bother about that but overseas its prefered. Specially
in Asia pacific region.
And now in the board room. First thing is you understand your resume first. Becuase most of us we make our
resumes by either copying from others or getting from here and there. Specially remember your projects briefs,
team size, duration etc. Many of us make a common mistake, We start before the other person complete his question or
when we dont know the answer we try to convience him some how. DONT!! If you are not sure give him a political answer or
"Sorry, I dont have much Idea about it" but with a assurance that you can pick that up if required. Many of us we have
one big problem. Its the LANGUAGE ACCENT. Many time we cannot really understand what they say not becuase you english is poor
but his pronouncation may be different. Dont Imagine his question if you dont understand, be clear and ask again saying " Sorry!
I didnt get you." (Hey! Did you know many of the talented guys loose because of this communication gap becuase they really cannot
express what they want to say or do not understand what the other person is asking)
Well enough of homework lets start with those common questions. But dont ask me for the
answer, I have them but its better you analyize yourself how good you are at personal confrontation. Below are all question related to
a personal Interview and has nothing to do with your technical skills. As far as I am aware most of the companies they dont screw up up
by taking technical interviews etc as it happens in India. Abroad when we say we have 3 or 4 years of experience
they assume that you know something. And ofcourse your first one or two weeks is actual unofficial tecnical examination for your employee.
If good in those days you are rewarded other wise you face a simple line "Mr.XXXX, better meet your agency (Consultant) today!"
